University Crime Prevention Seminar Program
Sponsored by Dominos Pizza Australia, the university crime prevention seminar program are held at every major university campus throughout Queensland each year to educate Chinese university students on personal safety, property protection and Queensland driving regulation.
With Queensland universities increasingly enroll more Chinese overseas students as part of the state and federal government's strategy to market Australian educational institutions abroad, these seminars become more important than ever to help maintain student safety and Australia's international image as a safe country.
The Australian Chinese General Chamber of Business work with local university student groups and co-ordinate with the QLD Police Service with organising these crime prevention seminars.
In 2008, ACGCB signed a number of sponsorship agreements with individual Chinese student associations to financially fund and organise their crime prevention seminars over a three years period.
The chamber of business successfully secured Domino Pizza Australia as a sponsorship in-kind for this program, by supplying free pizzas to students attending these seminars. A carrot on a stick approach.
